Volleyball - Anika Clark
Anika is a 4-year Varsity starter and her dedication and leadership has been an instrumental part of the volleyball programs success over the past 4 years. Anika has complied over 1,500 assists in her career and has been the starting setter the past 3 seasons, getting a bid at All-Conference Honorable Mention as a junior. Officials typically come up to me after the match to compliment me on what a great setter I have on my team. Not only is Anika a great setter, so has also led the team the past 2 years in most aces and the highest serve percentage. Anika is a well-rounded student athlete here at Godwin as she also plays basketball, softball and maintains a 3.6 GPA.

Football - Ru'Quan Buckley
Ru’Quan is by far one of the hardest working student-athletes I have ever coached. He never takes a day off; he is always looking to get better. There are often days as a coaching staff we have to tell Ru’Quan to take a break. This work ethic has now resulted in him being a four-year starter and excelling each game on the offensive and defensive line this season. Each week we have watched teams create a game plan to avoid running plays towards Ru’Quan. We have also watched Ru’Quan completely dominate opponents when he is blocking on the offensive line. Ru’Quan n is a great kid and a very strong leader on our team. He shows up every day with a smile on his face ready to work and is always positively uplifting his teammates. The interesting thing about Ru’Quan is off the field he is a quiet and very humble person. He will never mention it himself, but he has more division 1 football scholarship offers than any athlete in the West Michigan area. He will be making his commitment to the college of his choice in the very near future and we are really excited about his future.

Competitive Cheer - Enjohnae' Offray
Team Captain Enjohnae' Offray. Nae is someone that can always be counted on. She is a dedicated student athlete. From the classroom to the cheer mat Nae emulates qualities of a leader. Flexibility - Not only is she flexible on the cheer mat but flexible with her time and schedule. She does a great job of managing all of her responsibilities and does it with a positive attitude. She always puts in the work for the betterment of herself and the team. Whether it's learning various parts of the cheer to teach the others or providing tips on how to get our team's jumps higher. Nae is always there when we need her. I am extremely lucky to coach such an athlete. I can't wait to see what the future holds for our "Jump Queen".

Basketball - Jakhary Towns
Jakhary has consistently displayed excellence on & off the court and continues to work extremely hard for Godwin Heights’ athletics. He is an important piece to the success of the boys’ basketball team. Offensively he is very difficult to guard due to his ability to make outside shots, and also his creativity at getting to the basket. He has spent lots of practice time in this gym in order to help this team be successful by averaging 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.
Jakhary’s attention to detail is just one aspect that allows him to succeed against our toughest opponents. ‘Detail’ is a component of an athlete that may be overlooked at times, but truly sets players apart. Jakhary has obtained this quality throughout his past experiences, the work he has put in, and the confidence he’s gained from his play and his teammates.
Godwin basketball is proud and fortunate to have Jakhary represent us on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.
